The only evil of LOTO
I love LOTO. Been coming here for years. There's not much to not love about this place. Except one, IMO.
Running around the lake in the Nordic, I see all these nice cruisers running around, and each year I find myself my frequently thinking about going to a cruiser-style boat (a smaller one). Prowling this lake in cruiser comfort looks kinda fun -- but most definitely a different boating experience. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to turn in the keys to the Nordic -- but my wife is definltely leaning that way Help me fend off these urges. I2D. |
I seriously considered it before I bought my current boat. What stopped me was, I would want at least a mid 30's cruiser and they are not really towable. Anything smaller has fewer amenities than i have in my velocity. As much as I love loto, I would hate to be land locked in one lake and not be able to go other places.

I have seriously thought of getting a 30ish cruiser (esp. Since they don't seem to hold the value of a powerboat as much) and getting a 22ish speed boat for the need for speed. Slip the cruiser, trailer the speedster.... however, there is just something about a big go fast that strokes my ego too well... so I will be sticking to that genre...just tell yourself that you are too young to be caught in a cruiser yet. Unless it was like a Formula 40SS :)

I have been looking at Formulas to add to the fleet. Maybe I could just tow the rage with the 40SS. Use the rage as a tender. Best of both worlds.

Just buy a cruiser and leave it at the lake!! Floating condo

I had to make the choice between a go fast and a cruiser, I am glad we chose the best of both. I agree the 400SS is great but I love my 405 because no one knows what it is and everyone likes it. We spend weekends on it with no problems however I would not recomend it if you have kids tagging along, The perfect space for 2 at night and 8 during the day. Almost forgot AIR CONDITIONING!

I see A LOT of 38 Specials have come up for sale recently. Most have a gen set and AC from what I have seen.
