Who has tried a 5 blade prop?
 

Any 28 ft Nordic owners with the 496 ho tried the new Mercury Maximus 5 blade prop or the Hydromotive Intimidator P-5 prop? Rumor has it can produce 3-5 mph. Has anyone heard this also? I think the prop is very expensive but have not done any research on it yet.

Was that rumor of 3-5mph increase on a 28 Heat?

Just knowing the characteristics of the boat I would assume that the Hydro would fall on it face because it's a stern lifting prop. The Heat absolutely HATES stern lift. So much so that I run 2 mph faster with 2 or 3 fat dudes in the back seat.
The Maximus may be a good try and also rumor has it the the new Hydro QIV-X out of the box is out running the Bravo One labbed by Merc. It is a bow lifting prop new from Hydro.
We will be testing one in the next month or two.
