Finally got to stretch it out good yesterday. Heat has gone away from the 95-99 degree days with 100% humidity. Yesterday was 82-83 with normal heat.
33P Bravo 1 Labbed, 1.5 XR Gears, 5400RPM. 12% Slip. On the dog hot days the 33's do not spin up very quick. I sent my 30's off yesterday to get them labbed to 31's. The 30's were hitting the rev limiters in the spring. Hopefully they will work on the dog days being 31's. We have a radar run coming the first week in October. Air should be crisp by then. We will see what it will do then. |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
looks like 95mph great run a little cooler air low fuel all the junk out of the boat maybe a little chop 97mph at the radar shoot :D

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Congrats Linnie . thats flying in that boat , Is it pretty stable ?
I am to waiting on some cooler weather Then go back to testing again. The water temp on out lake is 92  , I am turning 6000rpm now and need to step up on pitch. Linnie maybe we can see some good #'s when it gets cooler . Rob |

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Thanks for the comments. I think some 565's would get it over 100 MPH for sure. 150HP did 7 MPH, = 21.5HP per MPH.
565's should make 650HP another 5 MPH. It would really wake up the 33P Bravos. Heading to the Potomac this weekend, will be at Gilligans tommorow, then to Shark Tooth island. Have a great weekend |

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Lets see what the 30's labbed to 31's will do before I cut loose the tired 575EFI's. 45 hours is a lot of hours this year. Damn, I 'm tired already.

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
If you were to do it again, What would you do differently? Different heads, cam, porting, etc.

I only used 9.35 CR. I was planning to do 9.75 CR but was swayed to drop it down with Iron heads. I have run up to 10.25 CR in the past with out any problems. I think it would have been better to get it up to 9.75 with the cam I used. I did a set of Carb 500's the same, except 9.75CR, in my buddies 37 Active Thunder and his pulls very good. I probally would have done better to keep the 500 EFI cam with the lower compression. Anything below 9.25, I would use the 500 cam. I now wish after all the work I would have done a 540 with the same setup & 9.75CR. The power increase was good for a 502 but you allways want more. |
