When does everyone start boating?
Guys,
I'm curious. When do you start your season? Here in Nashville, that usually means sometime in March. May even try next weekend (3-5/6) :D , unless the weatherman, or the fun police (the wife) have other plans. Regards, Steve |
Re: When does everyone start boating?
When the lakes thaw out, it quits snowing, we drive to Chicago from Salt Lake, they move all the other boats out of the way and then we pull it back to Salt Lake and then first chance we get...Sounds like while :(
Oh well, it'll be worth the wait :evilb: :evilb: |
Re: When does everyone start boating?
I've traditionally started boating in mid March. People started bringing in boats last week, so this is looking like an early season down here.

Re: When does everyone start boating?
We will be out at Havasu on the water starting in March, for Spring Break. But we boat in the 90's through October!
A bunch of our crowd has been boating allyear, making trips in the Pacific to Catalina and back. www.riverracerx.com Lake Havasu's Premiere Powerboat Club! |
Re: When does everyone start boating?
Yeah Baby,
The shakedown cruise went well today. I added a new valve that cuts off the water to the intercooler at idle, then flows at an adjustable PSI (I set mine @ 8 PSI). I also ran a smaller blower puller (3.25). Since I had been testing light, which is pretty unrealistic for me, I filled up both tanks. The boat turned a 28" P5-X 5500 @ 84 MPH. This was just a quick 1/4 blast, there may have been a little more stretched. I'm thinking lightly loaded, there should be another 2-3 MPH. Over the winter I added a tach recall in addition to the GPS recall. Pretty common stuff when I was drag racing, and I think it will be very useful for prop testing. Out of curiosity, I'm trying an Imco gearcase (same gear ratio 1.50) tomorrow. I'll let you know how that goes! Regards, Steve :drink: |
