Also what do u-and your friend's think about the ethanol 10% fuel during winter storage ? With the blowers will u-be setting your timing around 26/28 degrees to come in full @ 3000 and above or locking the dist. out to approx.the same advance.j:cool-smiley-011:I also see u-have two sea strainers, anyways it appears so ? two water pickups dual stage water pump for engine/intercooler/oil cooler etc. can u-advise on your plumbing, thanks a million j "1CE" ps going to the Keys thurs catch u-later your pal. |
J happy to help in what i can. I learned and talked to many people about what i have from dean gellner to a Friend Mike S280.
Questions: 1. Fuel coming in and all the way to the fuel rail are made up of 5/8 fuel line. 2. 150 GPH Holley Black Pump, Elcetric set up. 3. Hadring Marine Hi Flow filter housing with a wix bowl drain water/fuel sepoarter. 4 A friend of mine gave me some fuel additive for the ethonal problem if you need so i wil find the name of the product. 5. This is a locked Dist. @ 30 adv. Remeber this and this is MAJOR!!- if you have a digital ignition box you must reverse the dist. wires or you will have 20 degree more timeing then base. i found out the hard way running 50 degrees advanced not good. 6. Water pick up for the engine, Thru the leg. Transom pick up for the intercooler. Thats why 2 strainers single style origanal bravo water pump/sea water. 7. Stock oil cooler but have an addtional one to put in over the winter. |
Im going to upgrade a few things this winter also. One will be cockpit lighting to all L.E.D.'s I put a dvd/radio in the dash so when we hang out we can watch somethign. I havent seen this one done yet on here but maybe it has. Platform is being repainted. and also because how close the blower pulley sits to the bulk head im making a cover plate so noe gets hurt if the hatch needs to be open for any reason.

so your intercooler is forward pressure regulated.
fuel lines to say the least Huge. skeg water line to engine, pump in skeg or engine mounted ? and when u-say reverse dist.wires u-mean retard all by one spark plug wire position or clockwise one position to prevent an over advace situation with the digital box. j |
J, The reg on the intercooler is before the sea strainer so that i dont blow the plexi out of it or the seal. The fuel lines well nothign need be said about that, 5/8'ths says it all. Sea water pump is always on teh engine on a bravo alpha have the pump in the leg. The dist. wires that go from the box to the dist get reversed not the spark plug wires. If not you will run some serios advance. i didnt know this until i just got luckey and picked up a powerboat mag that had a q and a about the same thing i had i was just luckey as i said to find that.

It probably runs run on the hose, but top end you'll have no volume of water.A transom pickup is a must.I seen dudes hange valves because of not enough volume.Lack of volume seems to leave steam pockets in the motor, mostly in the heads around the exhaust valve guides. You'll need 1" thru hull and water pessure must be 20-25psi at WOT.

i guess everyone has a different idea on water pri. my motor makes 1078hp at 6200 i have 4 years on it at 10 lbs of water pri. run 4 or 5 poker runs a year never had a problem. i like to see a lot of water moving through the motor not always a lot of pri.my heads are the 357 afr's 540 inch motor 3.3 whipple. also i was in a gtx with 1075 merc's and they don't run that much pri.

Nice HP brother!! at 6200 rpm your probably making tons of volume and bronze valve guides help out big time.We found,in our cases, under 10-12lbs,made big problems for valves.Average hours were 2 to 3 before turning into shizzle. 20-25 psi is Merc's spec for psi, they sent a service bulletin on this.To be safe we make sure about water psi, under 20 psi we address water pickup issues, over 30 psi we install Merc's water bypass valve.
