Lake George Boat Crash
Sunday night about 11:30pm, Happy Family Island. These Islands are about 400 yards inside the 5 mile an hour bouy. He had to be traveling 35 + to get that far up the Island.
|
I hope everyone involved is ok. Any more info?

Looks like a cobalt? Those boats really fly! :D
|
That's what we call DRY STORAGE !!! But if you look closely, the boat came on the island from the only place on the island that seems to be like natural ''launch rocks''...
Was that boat for sale??? Done on purpose??? |

The water is about a foot deep in there. All rock.
And way out of the channel. Must have been drunker than hell....or really unfamilier with their surroundings. |
Tad to port and he might have made it over. Instead, looks like he came to a rather abrupt stop. OUCH!
|
Still there this morning, Would like to see how it will be removed. Amazing enough not being able to look real closely it doesn't look to bad. The drives don't look to damaged, but there some nice gashes in the hull.
Google the poststar news paper for details. |
Two injured, driver intoxicated and charged with reckless operation, speed.

Wow, how do you miss that? Sounds like the driver was so drunk that they saw two of the islands and tried to split them.:( I guess the speed limit at night won't be lifted anytime soon.
|
same alcohol story over and over... unfortunatly...
|
I could see someone running aground in the narrows even sober, It get pitch black up there at night with no home around to light the shore.
But in the area of this grounding they should have seen that island a mile away. The Harris Bay Marina is well lite at night and plenty of homes along the shore that would luminate that island. |

We were sitting on our boathouse deck at that night and we could hear it coming. One can get around the west side of that island. There is several small islands between use and the large island.
Well here the picture of this afternoon, not the best quality, sorry. The short trip from the island to Harris Bay Marina she took on a lot of water. The one picture is the bilge pumping out. |

Here's how the lab spent the day!
|
I wish more people would do that stuff...what with the low cost of fuel, I have tons of money to throw my insurance company's way.......:(
|
How did they back up the boat from the ''wood''?
|
They winched it backwards, turned it 45 degrees, then winched it into the water. I didn't get a close look.
|
The drinks on the lake are getting quite expensive.:hitfan:
