How'd the sandbags work for ya?

OL40SVX 10-11-2010 07:49 PM

There's nothing better than a great day of running Sutphen's with the Sutphen family!! Had a great time as usual! Those two Cigs didnt look too bad either tied up at the dock!! The water conditions were perfect, flat going over and rough coming home!

Jeff and Jessica (Jennifer!), thank you so much for having me today. I had a spectacular time and look forward to hanging again in the future. If not next weekend (which I'd love to do), we'll absolutely have to take the cars and head up to the Pike to hang out some Saturday night!

Kevin and crew... again, had a fabulous time. Hopefully you guys made it back in the dark okay. It was great to meet you guys and very much looking forward to doing it again... hopefully soon!

And that chick "Footsie" I met at the bar... :hitit: :drink: LOL, :D

Thanks again all, I had a great time today!!!!

Absolutely looking forward to doing it again soon, I had a great time! Although next time I might just start with one of your mixed drinks... one of those and a beer or two and I should be good to go for an entire day! :drink: My number is above, lets stay in touch.

BTW, I have that 42 down to under 100k so I think I'm going to pull the trigger within the next week or two. :party-smiley-004:

I guess I just missed you boys, I was coming in the front way as you were going out around the back side. Didnt realize the AARP cards were going to expire if you guys didnt get back home so quickly.:party-smiley-004:

I thought you guys would be hanging out drinking and having a good time all day and Id have plenty of time to hook up with you all.

sucks to miss out on that many sutphens running together. Hopefully everyone will be back down for the CT river run on sunday!:coolcowboy:

30ctsutphen 10-12-2010 11:19 AM

Jon that video is great!

Is that where the Head gasket decided to give up the ghost when you were trying to hang with the mad men?

wish I had made it in time for that run around the Islands. I am gonna kick myself for it for a while.

Hope your sutphen gets back up and running quickly. Put some cometics in there this time and fatten up the fuel curve. must have detonated to lose a head gasket IMO.

I dont think they've ever propped it for all out top end but it runs low to mid 80's easily now. Power is prob in the high 600's. They didnt dyno the motor before it was put in.

Hey Frank, You guys came back just after we ran over what would you call the waves on the way back 2 to 3's?

I always have a hard time judging so since we were close in timing I figure you saw the samewater we saw?

On the way home it was 1 ft or less IMO what would call those Kreed?

After we went round Shelter it was stacked up in the middle. Pretty big ****. I'd say real 4's in the middle of the sound.

kreed 10-13-2010 09:37 AM

Jeff, I would say 2 footers. Alittle calmer in spots. Frank called me when he got back to Old Saybrook and said 4 footers on his way back. We left a couple hrs later than him, so it must have died down. Still a fun ride.

Jeff,

Big enough to be fun, but not too big to make it miserable!

On our way over we were in 2' - 2.5', with an occasional 3' thrown in for good measure. On our way back, most of that was around 1' - 2', the bigger water being closer towards the LI side. What made it interesting was the fact that there were some that had pretty inconsistent spacing... both of you guys caught some nice air a few times coming back! :drink:

SS930 10-13-2010 10:08 AM

Nice pics Dan, thanks for sharing!
