Should I assume it was called the "LUMBER RUN" due to the amount of debris in the water???
Left Clinton to head up there and realized the water on the sound was pretty rough and the forcast was for the wind to keep blowing so it was a short boat ride... Didn't know what the plans were for heading to HP (sounded like things were changing last minute) so I decide to just pass this time around. How were conditions on the river? Probably another good day to have the windshield. :) Glad to hear you guys had a good time! Looking forward to the pictures and hearing the details! |
SS Excellent run. What a day! wish you could have made it. I ran up with a bunch of guys who launched at OS and some guys who road down to met us. There were a few timbers seeing is i split one. Bit the skeg a bit but no serious danmage that i can fix with 50 bucks and my Tig. Chris should be on here soon with Pics along with Jeff.

Great pics Kevin. Looks like a good turn-out! I hope those little river boats were running in front of you guys . Those things would scare the sh!t out of me, just looking at the hulls you'd think a 6" ripple in the water could cause major problems!!!
No surprise regarding timber in the river. I dont think I've ever gone from the mouth to Middletown w/o seeing at least a couple of big branches in the water. I can only imagine how much debris was in the water after all the rain and 3 days of heavy winds. At least there was no serious damage or injuries! Mike, sounds like you might have gotten off pretty easy... a bent prop could have been a little more costly. :D |

Hey guys Please check out the CPBA section at the bottom of the forums.
The CPBA needs more support. although we have a good mount of mebers we need more funds to get great runs scheduled in CT. We need insurance, lawyers and an accountatnt to stay a float. With out the support of connecticut boaters buying T shirts, Decals , and becoming members we wont be around long! So If you had fun at some of these runs this year and want them to get bigger and better in the future. Drop a few bucks and become a member. Its your club to make, your boating more fun so JOIN UP! |
