Sounds like you may have been on the outside of the road that blocks Earl's.I don't know, but looking at a couple of maps/charts today, looks like you have to turn in before,or east of West Island and go around the back side.At that point it looks a little rocky. I am going to take a stab at it Saturday around mid day.Maybe do a little beach time at Bassett's in the morning, and take a ride over later, for drinks, and a late lunch. If you have any interest, let me know.I'll call Rich/Candyman and see if he wants to go,could be a good time. Jeff

Depends on the wind.I like the front beach better, less rocky on the feet. But if it's windy the island blocks alot of it,so we go around the back.

Earls is easy to get to from Woods Hole, compass heading 330 N. brings you right to the West Island tower, which is black and white striped in color. When you see it run off the beach 500 yards then turn left at the end of the beach/land, youll see the enterance markers.
be careful of the scallop farms/ marked with yellow balls.
