Pat,

If you cant find someone, drop the drum(s) next to the boat and use a high volume electric fuel pump to transfer it. If not, I have a hand cranking drum pump you can use, but the hose on it is only about 4' long so you'd have to extend it with some additional hose and a clamp or two.

I had the drum pumps as well, but they're in storage...grr, thanks scott!

Pat, I think you already purchased the 55 gal. drum, but if your in a pinch, Torco fuel additive comes in 5 gallon and smaller pails. Easier to add the boat fuel tank this way and its GREAT stuff. Their website tells all.....

I have some drums...ha torco 5 gal....that would mean i'd need 20 5gal cans....and that price is absurd...I'll be all set, figured I'd just shout out and see..

You guys are talking about two different things... Pat, what Kevin is talking about is a fuel additive that raises the octane of pump gas. Basically an octane booster. It's MMT based and works fairly well, but it's not a true substitue for high octane race fuel... but it can raise the octane of pump gas a couple of points. Typically MMT will leave redish deposits which will be seen on the plugs, etc.

Correct Scot. Pat , I think you said you were just adding race fuel to mix with the old fuel left in your tank to bring up the octane a bit until its all gone? If I remember correctly? Well, this stuff would do the trick....

Maybe I'm missing something but why don't you just buy some moroso breather tanks inst that what your trying to accomplish?

WildThing47 06-22-2011 12:45 PM

I've never liked the idea of octane booster. Just my humble opinion, I'd rather use av gas, or mix it true than trust it.
