I used to go to thimbles alot, my dad ran us down from cedar island to thimbles all the time as a kid in the 70s snd 80s.

Went there alot on my jet skis from lighthouse point too

Then I just stopped going! No real reason other than I dont know the area well anymore. I could go anywhere thete with a ski and im afraid Id find rocks in those places now...

It's a nice run from Clinton, probably my favorite for late summer/early fall.

We're heading out Sunday. Are you staying in Middletown, or are you heading down to Hamburg?

I know that's not for me, I hate the river IMO it's boring the wake zones blow it is where all the inexperienced boaters are narrow channel cost as much in gas to go anywhere as it does to run in the ocean. Don't get me wrong I get the hanging raft thing and we do it with kids a couple of times a year but both my daughters want to know why we didn't go somewhere on those days. Did I forget to mention the river traffic and the cops? It is like driving on 95 on the weekend. Ok I feel better now so I guess I will meet you at harbor park on sunday:drink:

Sounds like we are planing to be River Rats tomorrow... going to the Blue Oar.

Since I'm not a pro river rat, what's this I heard about there being a speed limit on the river during the weekends? I believe King River Rat mentioned to me the other day the speed limit is 35 mph on weekends... If so, WTF is up with that??? I dont think my boat will stay on plane at 35!

:eek:WOW another reason I don't like the river. Scot there is no way that boat can stay on plane at 35mph. I am really looking forward to your post tonight or tomorrow about your river run:drink: At least you will see alot of boats out there. Have fun everyone we will be going to Long Island today first Claudios then maybe Sag or Montauk.
