i use a polish called ez shine. i get it from indy auto parts here in peabody ma. it works better then mothers. it has a mild abrasive to it and it cuts the dull part faster and leaves a great shine. i tried woody wax to keep it nice but it didnt do a thing for it. it took me atleast 8 hours to get it like it is, then i have to do it after every ride to keep it looking good. but if i do it after every ride its about 20 min a side so its not bad. but i started off with a brand new sled and kept up with it |
Holy hell. That looks like too much work!

Rev style chassis? How far down is it? I bent my old pro x tunnel and replaced it. That's NO FUN |

Since I'm going on vacation next week I figured I'll throw this out there one more time for any local snowmobilers. Our Ski-doo/Can-Am/Klim Open House is next Saturday October 1. It's a 1-day sale so it's a good chance to stock up on belts, oil, plugs, carbides, helmets, gear, SLEDS, etc. All BRP and Klim gear will be on sale, plus big savings in our Clearance area. Even if you don't need anything it's worth the trip to check out the new stuff, check out the free swap meet, bring your own stuff to try to sell, get some free food, and get ready for snow!
www.huntersskidoo.com Ok shameless plug over, have fun while I'm gone! The boat's not winterized yet so maybe when i'll get back i'll rip it one more time. |

Not cold you just need the right gear, expensive??? cheaper then a new Bravo drive, all male activity......if you say so. A weekend away drinking eating going fast priceless!!!! Don't knock it til you try it, there is a good reason why many boaters own sleds too:drink:
Audio, just buy another sled and drag that blown up stuff into the woods:party-smiley-004::lolhit: |
Noyzee it is a 2005 MXZ 1000. The cylinder on the non PTO side scraped off a lot of alluminum. On tear down I found a lot of belt crap in the read cage so I know there is a lot down in the crank case. I want to put this thing together and sell it and get an 800 like you did. I think it will prove to be a MUCH better sled. Power to weight ratio is better and it uses a LOT less fuel and oil.
Yo Biggus since you seam to be rolling large these days how about you buy one for me! I can't keep up with you, you are the pimp of Naples! LOL |
biggus, where do you sled?? im in rangeley a lot. we rent a place on mingoloop, hunters cove. my buddy has an f1000 all done up.fast!!
audiofn, dont think its an mxz 1000 maybe a mach z 1000 might be a mach z x package? all black, tunnel and all?? is it a mono jug? 1000 sdi correct? i just sold mine, i had an 05 as well. 980 miles on it. i had it set up for racing, it was fast as hell but known for crank issues and known for the belt dust issue. so i run a little extra 2 stroke in the fuel and i run cone filters with pre filters and it helps a lot. if you need the parts redone let me know my buddy is unreal with mach z stuff. he sets them up real good. he has mine now doing a few things to the motor to get it back to stock, then my buddy is buying it. as for the 800, i love my rev its an 05 rev with power tek in it and its great. stock its a bit of a bone but with the right mods and the right clutching mine is fast as hell. takes out 90% of the sleds i run into weather its other revs, or xp's or e techs or cats. it runs good. the xp i just got will be left pretty stock for a trail sled and my 05 will become more of a lake racer style sled but still in the stock form for running some radar runs. it will be a modified sled but not a super mod. it wont be big bore or twin pipes, just a ported 800 with bolt ons. that way i fit the local runs rules. |

He may have the MXZ 1000 Renegade they made for a year or two. It's still an RT chassis sled.
EDIT: I now see audiofn's sled is a 05. I don't think the renegade came until 06. Sure are a sweet pulling mill when they run but wow, I have seen so many blow up with low miles on them and the short block is worth as much as the sled is. Have a riding buddy with a blowed up 06 right now. 1100 miles and its the second motor !!!!!!!!! Took a crank and the cases and dealer quoted him 4400 to fix it. The sled ain't worth 4400. On a happier note, dealer just called and my 2012 800 Assault Switchback is in. :) |

with tipped up rails and the 1.32 Cobra track, it runs more like a 136 on trails yet still is a 144 for boonin. I have heard from a few 11 SBA owners that its actually a pretty decent trail sled. No 121 in the twistys but pretty dam respectable for a LT sled and just flat out amazing off trail. I loved my 800 gade but wanted something a little more suited to free riding.
My sled 121 with 2 ” paddle went for a trail break with some big sleds out to maine / canada border cut. Found myself tit deep stuck in a drift for a couple hr Good times |

Thats a nice last pic there! I have a similar one of Lake George.

I may be off on the info. With 3 sleds I may be messing up the years or??? I will get the info next time up.
Thanks Jon |
the 1000 was a great motor if you did what was suposed to be done. if you ran the right fuel, add a touch of oil to the fuel, put the right fuel pumps in it, add the right ground wires, pre filters to keep belt dust out and stuff the motors where very good. i know guys with 4000+ on stock motors
not the best if your not a good tinker type guy but strong runners with the right owner |

here are a few photos. some of the new sled, some of my old rev with new white paint job and pic of my girls sled. my new sled is not done, i just got it. snow flap is off, waiting for studs to get here. my white rev is waiting on some small graphics i had made but its all base coat clear coat. looks good.

The new white paint job looks awesome!
|
Noyzee I was gonna ask if that was you on Dootalk, guess I know the answer now. I bought the same sled (2011 800x) I was the one who asked you on there how the colors look in person. The new pics make it look much better. I have not a sled in the last 10 years that I didn't paint or wrap and customize so we will have to see. I think I am going to have to do something with the seat. We will need to put together a trip with the guys on here. I have a place in VT that we can sleep 6 plus.

Started riding VT last year for the first time. I loved it! The trails, for the most part, are better than New York. |
