By water it's a long ride and it will cost you a lot in fuel!

You picked the wrong side/end of the island for performance boating fun! :D

It's a hike by water, you can always load the boat on the ferry

****! That is a long ways from where I am at by car or by boat. After driving around here, the last thing I am wanting to do is SOLO this big ass trailer around, but gotta do what I gotta do, I'll figure something out. Anyone need a ride and give me a hand, Or is anyone coming from this side of the island?

"Hi Scot
The Poker Run is Sat Sept. 17. Registration is at 11am here at the Pavilion. Currently, there isn't a rain date scheduled, but is usually the next day depending on the forecast of course."

we might be a no-go for this weekends events...there is a ton of stuff in the river. right now we dont have a way to get down to pavilion. my fear is that the run ends around dusk so boating back would be very dangerous. we still dont have a truck (brakes) so trailering is out. will keep everyone posted.

To compound issues, the temperature is forecasted to really drop toward the end of the week. We'll have to keep an eye on this one, but as it stands now I'm planning on going.

Really???? The 65 degree weather is a factor? Last year it was high 60's low 70's and sunny. Your boat will run like a scalded rabbit in this weather. I am hoping there are some swells from the that hurricane that is going at to sea. I will not be able to get there until 10;30 - 10:45 then I need to get gas.

F-ing right Skippy! I'm still freezing from yesterday! Note to self, dont go over to Greenport on a wet 21' boat in 1-3's!!! :grinser010:

I was over on LI 3 of the last 4 days (Friday, the day you were out there being the one day I missed), all of which I saw significant debris out there. The river is still a mess. I am concerned about running hard out there next weekend, although it has to be a little better day by day.
