Long Island fun run Sept 6th
 

The committee of the LONG ISLAND STAMPEDE are having a free fun run on Sat Sept 6th with a rain date of Sun Sept 7th.
This is a free run!!!!!!!! We will be assembling at Braccos in Freeport anytime after 9am for coffee and Bagels. We will depart at 11:30 for a run to a lunch stop ( destination not decided yet) . The lunch stop will be approx 40 miles away. We are open to suggestions on where to have lunch. After lunch we will go back to Braccos in Freeport .

We will be having a high card draw with the winner takes all for anyone interested.
$50 per player gets 1 card at either Braccos I the morning or at the lunch stop. The envelopes will be opened back at Braccos and the highest card wins the whole pot. We will be limiting this to a single deck of cards(52) . If we sell out the entire deck the prize will be $2600. There is NO obligation to play but you can play as many hands as you or your passengers would like.

Are there any boat ramps in the area?

There are several good ramps close by. I will get addresses today and post them

Wantagh park has a nice boat ramp and is about a 15 min ride to Freeport

X2 Wantagh Park is a great ramp.

There is also a ramp in Freeport that I have used many times. Freeport is closer but Wantagh is definitely nicer though. I can get location if any body is interested.

BUMMER! I'm going to Long Beach for the weekend and was planning to stop by Bracco's to see all the boats fire up at 11:30 on SEP 6th! Oh well.

Any update on the run out of Freeport Broccos on the 27th,it still on?????

The run is on, I'll be at Braccos at 9am with coffee and bagels for anyone who would like. We are leaving the dock between 11 and 11:30. Heading east to Bayshore area( exact location TBD) for a single card pick up then straight back to Braccos for high card opening and lunch. We are trying to keep this simple and fun.

Billy from NPBA mentioned the around Manhattan run to me as well, and I'm pretty sure he said it is this Sunday the 5th of October. I'm not sure I'll be making it because my truck is not out of the shop yet from a small fender bender..... so if I go I would take the ocean and last time I checked they were calling for 4'-7' seas on Saturday into Sunday...... A little to rough for my liking, but I'll keep an eye on the forcast.........

just checked again, 4'-6' on Saturday and 2'-4' on Sunday.........hmmmmm

Hi Ray , I'm Bill Carroll . I organized the freeport fun run and the LI stampede, you are confusing me with Billy Frenz of the NPBA. Billy Frenz was at Braccos last week and yes he is having his run this Sunday . Although my boat is not ready I will probably go by car to support the NPBA.

Hey Johnny if you need a tow vehicle I always have an extra on hand for you to borrow.

Billy Frenz... I have a poker run already going on this Sunday but it is of the two wheeled kind. I'm a South Shore Motorcylce Club (SSMC) member. I am obligated to participate in the set up of the run. Unfortunately the brunch run around Manhatten will not be in the cards for me.

Have fun to those who are going. If you have never done this run before, I recommend it. It was great the two times I did it

Freeport run was great.. couldnt have asked for better weather... and I don't know where you got the bagels, but they were awesome....

Yep, I've been checking his sight. I've actually purchased a few from them before....... They take some great shots, especially the candid ones where I had no idea they were there......

The photos are posted. Click on slideshows on main page, then search images, then events and they are under scream and fly morning and afternoon 20140927. Tons of pix.
