heard Jamesport is great, but the one in Mattituck inlet goes directly into the sound. Its a little west of Ct. river but only 21 miles from inlet to inlet..... Jamesport is almost 40 miles... Just looking at options so I wouldn't have to find gas on the river to get back, I need 93 and I'm not sure how many miles up the river they run........

I also would go but gas is a big thing and is there any this time of year.

Keep me posted. Port Jefferson is a good spot. That's where I hail from. North shore of Long Island . I'm in for a run either way...

Port Jeff is $70 a day for non resident, I looked it up online. Last year we launched from Greenport and went across

Can't remember exactly I followed a few friends there that live out that way. Going that way we had to go through Plum Gut which was very rough and we were in our 21' sob's. Not very fun, lol

Port Jeff ramp has no one working it this time of the year. So it's free. Only open to collect fees from Memorial Day to Labor Day . I live less then a 1/4 mile from the ramp
