Andy, some will even go to the extreme of roughly sanding the running surface.
I do however wax as low on the sides as I can reasonably reach, all the way down to the V maybe 10' back from the bow. This is out of the water most of the time anyway.

Sorry for the late reply. I guess I should have gone into greater detail about wax. Looks like everyone else has done a good job explaining it. The real reason is so you will have more time to :drink: :D

Re: Hello everyone

Thanks guys, I had a couple problems with the new boat already that have been since fixed by my good friend Wette Vette. Thanks alot Craig. I had the remote starter solenoid/relay go bad, and the boat was having trouble starting. It sounded like their wasn't enought timing. After setting the timeing to 8 btdc numerous times the boat still wound not run correctly. Vette told me to pull a plug and they were nasty, still had the original plugs WTF. Change the plugs, and THE MAN VETTE double checked the timeing and we were off to the races. Thanks alot VETTE, you are teaching me alot. When you get that Sled, I show you the ropes under the hood.

Sounds like you are in good hands. Maybe you can bring him on one of the runs? We hope to be at Hammond in two weekends. Maybe next Sunday if life really treats me good this week. See you soon.

Andy,

Thanks for not mentioning that it took us 3 hrs of messing around to finally realize the motor just needed plugs!! Oh well a fix is a fix regardless how long we had to scratch our heads wondering WTF was wrong. :p Be sure to get that impellar inspected / changed before doing any serious boating. I'll bet it's in about the same condition your spark plugs were!!

Vette,

How about some :drink: :drink: this weekend. Then maybe a few hot laps. I think that we both deserve it.

I hear that!! I plan on running the WV on the hose tomorrow and splashing possibly on Monday for a shake down run. Then it will be time to get dialed in with the shorty and get the propped cprrectly. 120 is not too far away and it would be nice to peg that GPS speedo!! :drink:
