Pure Muscle Cig
As a former Chicago area boater, it was good to see Chi Town represented down here at the Outlaw Shootout, even though most of the events were washed out due to heavy wind. The Pure Muscle Cig was probably everyone's favorite boat that showed up. Does anyone know what motors he was running? They sounded the best of anyone's. That boat was flawless.

A fresh pair of Wesco Racing engines, 598 cu. in. 1100 hp. These engines came right off the dyno and went into the boat a couple days before we were supposed to leave for Texas. My wife and I were planned to fly down with the engine builder "Dave Wesseldyk" but we had a last minute change in plans and could'nt come down. Sorry we missed it.
Those engines with 2 more lbs. of boost made 1200 hp, but we had the boost turned down a bit for the first time out. The name on the boat had just been changed too right before it left Chicago, and they wrote it wrong, it was supposed to be lettered "SOLID MUSCLE", and that will be changed too once it gets back.
The engines performed "flawless" like they always do after Dave builds them. Dave was just down there to make sure that everything went smooth and made some last minute carb adjustments once it was splashed.

I thought so, and BTW, I was the one that picked it and told the painter to put it on, and when he was finished, it was wrong.

I hope that there was no loping motors unless he put some huge cams in the motors. You probabily heard them before he adjusted the carbs. Dave is the KING.
