...A LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...

.PUBLIC REPORTS OF A DROP IN LAKE MICHIGAN WATER LEVEL AT CHICAGO BY
2 FEET IN THE LAST HOUR INDICATES THAT A SEICHE IS AFFECTING THE
LAKE WATER LEVELS OF LAKE MICHIGAN.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A LAKESHORE
FLOOD WARNING...ALSO KNOWN AS A SEICHE WARNING...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING.

A 2 FOOT DROP IN LAKE WATER NEAR CHICAGO THIS AFTERNOON INDICATES
THAT A SEICHE IS IN PROGRESS ACROSS SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN. THIS
IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR WADERS ALONG THE CHICAGO
LAKESHORE. WATER LEVELS MAY FLUCTUATE RAPIDLY...TAKING
UNSUSPECTING WADERS OUT TO MORE OPEN WATERS.

A LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR
IMMINENT ALONG THE LAKE. RESIDENTS ON OR NEAR THE SHORE IN THE
WARNED AREA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RISING WATER...AND TAKE
APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. EVACUATE DOCKS...
PIERS...AND BREAKWALLS NOW

We were out in Hammond today and notice the water drop. Then it came rolling back it right after the storm.
It came back almost 2 feet higher

Pretty wild to watch, The current get wicked.

Yeah...when we came back in the current at the opening of the harbor was like whitewater! Couldn't believe how high it was! When it dropped, we were, of course, wading at Boater's Beach and never really noticed...although in retrospect, my boat did bounce off the bottom a couple times, and then an hour later I jumped off the back and went in over my head....and I had two anchors set hard so I know I didn't move.

This weather is starting to piss me off...

When we pulled into East Chicago the docks were at leat 2-3 feet underwater !!!!!!

Dropped everyone off ,,,, Cheryl went for the trailer,,,, in LESS then 45 seconds the level droppd 2 feet,,,, It was wild !!!!!

Hopefully Nostradomus was wrong and the end of the world isn't coming.

Can't tell by the current economy and garbage f'in weather though.

Storms like that look cool, especially when you are off the big pond in time. A cool pic about 5 mins after we got tied to the dock in "The Ditch".

NAH !!!!!! It was over in 1/2 hour,,, the sun came out and the lake was 0-1 foot PERFECT !!!!!!!
