Just to throw some more into the mix, there is more to ride quality and handling in hull designs also. Not just the length. If you arent looking to be a speed demon out there, its hard to go wrong with a traditional 24 degree straight bottom boat. I'd think that a mid 90's 38 Cigarette would fit your budget. A 36 outlaw would be a nice comfy stable boat too.

Theres many times I am out on the lake wishing i had a different boat that was faster. Then theres that one day I go out and the lake is a little sloppy, and I remember why I own this old lead sled.

Yep. Part of the reason that 36' Outlaw rides so well is that it was originally a Cig mold. I just found that out recently.

Formulas seem to tame the slop of Lake Michigan pretty well, even the smaller Fastecs.

Probably the best deal out there on a wave crusher of its kind. Can't believe it's still for sale.

See also the Mistress listed here on OSO. Bought from this region, upgraded, and it has the Konrad$. A ton of boat for the money.

Thanks for the info on the Cig's, but I'm really wanting EFI motors.

Went to go see a 382 fastech on Saturday. Definitely a boat that would make us both happy. Hoping to see a 353 this coming weekend to compare the two.

If you can swing it, I'd go with the 382. You'll be glad you did once you get the wife on the big pond.
