WOW--Very sad to report that the show is empty. The only go fast boat was a 29 foot Formula. Also no 40ss. They had a 35ss ?? The Geico boat was there, but only had motor casings in it. The whole show, campers and all was on the main floor.

The highlight of the evening was spending some time talking to Biggus (Kurt) from Konrad.

It was fun to get out of the house. But don't expect any performance boats. Lots of runabouts, cruisers and wakeboard boats. The cruisers had alot of traffic, but that's it.

I took a few pics of an old wooden raceboat that I will load tomorrow.

Back in the day i sold both Black Thunders and Then later
Nor-Techs at the show

We would be there with National Marine parked behind us or across the isle from us and they would have Cigarettes and what ever else they were selling at the time
There would be a Fountain booth, Baja , Awsome cat, checkmate, Formula, Donzi and a few others I even rember the days that Sonic had a presence at boat shows in the north

Gone are the good old days very sad

Well those are cool, but if thats the best part of the boat show then it is in a sad state. I think I'll be skipping it this year.

If I was Formula I would have brought every model I made. Its the most exposure your line will get will be at a show.

I think just the fact that Shogren doesn't even show up says a lot. Especially just after they announced adding Nor-Tech to their lineup. Would have been a good chance for them to show that off if they thought it was worth it.

Scott Shogren being a very wise business man, and very successful in the marine sales, not being at the Chicago show, has to tell everyone something. If you're a performance boater, and Shogren does'nt have a display, you can bet the show is'nt worth going to.

I believe Shogren will have some kind of a get together on the water this summer for all his customers and boating friends.

Just my $.02

The dog jump contest had to be the biggest attraction.
Took longer to park the car in the empty parking garage than walk thru the show.

Default JULY 24, 2010 - Shogren Open House / Customer Appreciation Day

Our open house/customer appreciation day, all NO Charge is July 24th @ Winthrop Harbor. Details will come later this year.

We are very busy getting ready for spring and delivering boats while finalizing our agreement with Sunsation boats this past week.

We walked the show and yes it is obvious the www has really affected all consumer shows in many different trades. We had a great weekend at the store and appreciate all those that stopped by and purchased boats.

Best regards to all for a great 2010.

Regards,

Scott Shogren
