2005 38' Ocean Express
 

I have been eye balling all of the pics that I can find on the 2005 38' Ocean Express that has been for sale at the dealership for quite a long time. I have also spoke with Ross and Stewart in a few conversations about some small details of the boat, but I have not been able to obtain any performance data. Does anyone have any performance history on the this boat such as:

1. Anticipated top speed with 650hp NA motors, 1:35 ratio XR drives, and 1 1/4 shaft - OE claims 100mph)
2. What is the X dimension for the drives?
3. Any typical porpoising characteristics?
4. What is the hull top speed rating?
5. Any typical flaw characteristics of hull design or craftmanship of layup?
6. What would be the anticipated top speeds with 750hp NA, 850hp NA, or 950hp NA motors? (obviously drives would need to be upgraded)

This boat has been for sale for so long, I am wondering if there is something about this model that is keeping anyone from buying it. I like the cockpit configuration, and I also like the cuddy that appears to be very functional. Hopefully someone who owns or who has owned a 38' OE can provide some feedback. I intend to travel to view it very soon, but would really like as much information as possible. I am a historical deep V owner of go-fast boats and this would be my first cat to own. Any and all information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
