I'm what most of you call a Veteran!

Brock and I have raced about 1 and a half races if you count the crew cheif challenge that year in the keys.

So if any of you are looking for a driver or throttleman don't hesitate to ask...

Re: How many races

A small history lesson for all you younguns except for Stan Ware and Joe Fever as he used to be known ,and Peter Meyers.
In the heyday of APBA Offshore, there was a min. of 10 offshore races a year plus a ton of local races sanctioned by APBA for local clubs.
We usually started in Miami which used to be called the Bacardi Trophy Race and we raced out of Gov. Cut inlet in Miami all the way to Bimini and back. However you wern't finished yet, now you had to go down to Fowey Rocks and then back to the finish line; 120+ miles for production boats and 200+miles for open.
We always raced the 10 National races and usually 10 to 15 locals in the 70's 80's and early 90's. We all had to travel to the midwest usually to Sandusky Ohio Grand Haven Mich. Traverse City Mich etc. etc. then to Calif. for the Bushmills in Newport Beach, San Francisco, L.A. or San Diego.
In the early 90's John C. started OPT(Offshore Prof. Tour) and we also raced around the country.
I know that Joe S. and Peter M have competed in hundreds of races both individually and together as I have. We probably have competed against current racers' fathers and uncles in one case of Scotty B I know that for sure.
I guess it doesn't really matter how many races you have competed in but how much fun you have doing it. I for myself enjoy the competition and the interesting people I have met throughout the many years I have been racing.
For those younguns who are racing and the new guys just coming in make sure that you have a great time doing it. When it makes you unhappy it's time to get out.
Just some of my thoughts.

And you'll do it again with my Dad racing this year 33 years after his last race
