OSS won't be duped again

OSS race numbers format is numbers only, unique numbers across all classes, no pre- or postfixes. This is how we started. The rule wasn’t as ruthlessly enforced as it should have been … everybody wanted to be nice and accommodating. And what a mess that created! Announcing DNEP - the OSS Duplicate Number Eradication Program. OSS Members, check your race numbers. Story at http://www.offshoresuperseries.com/article.php?artID=77

It's a good idea, but I hated it when Allweiss came up with it in 2000. We ran A-99 in A Class, and when SVL was created by APBA and made part of the Super Series............someone already had that number. I had to change to 66 to run in SVL.

Mike,

I think the OSS system works a whole lot better. No chance of any duplicate numbers.
I think OPC in APBA may have done the same thing many years ago. When I registered, they assigned me the number 208 I had no choice in picking it.

At OSS, you can pick your favorite number. If it's not taken, you will get it. And it will be yours as long as you are a member.

For available numbers, check http://www.offshoresuperseries.com/membership.php "Your race numbers."

If you want a REAL Lucky Number, choose 888! Can't get luckier than that in Chinese numerology. That's why the Beijing Olypincs will be opened on August 8, 2008!

It's the same thing Tim. It didn't apply to the non-Super Series classes, but the canopied boats all had "non-duped" numbers. That is why I was forced to change my number.

We also thank Wazzup, Wild Ride, AMF, Bad Boys and numerous others for their support of DNEP ! Our numbers are strong, they don't need to be doubled-up ....
