Pickwick updates at the races
 

Does OSS have a person to give unofficial updates on this site when we are racing? Bertal,Pete,Ron P. are you guys in? I think its very important to keep people posted on this site. So many fans and racers that cant make a race sit on here waiting for any info as the weekend progress's. They really like the pics. I don't understand why someone would put on a race and spend money on promoting it and then not keeping as many people as possible informed in a timely fashion.

Remember - Talk offshore gives LIVE play by play of all OSS races. Most times, people listening to Talk Offshore will post results on here.

Bertel was good about carrying a wireless laptop with him. I wonder if he'll get recption in Pickwick???

I agree Talk Offshore does a great job during the race. My question is on leading up to the race. Say someone should be giving info from Thursday on as the team arrive. Pics of the meetings ,dunker,pits,course,testing and partying with friends. Bertal did the best job of it in the past by a long shot. I think he got tiered of some of the negative people taking shots at him or the organization. Its a new year and now we are all on the same team. Please come back Bertal!!!!!
I think he just needs a little encouragement from all of the Offshore fans. Let's hear it people :D

When I was a Unlimited Hydroplane groupie we had a guy that set up his laptop in the area of the starters stand where they had electrical.

He would update from Thursday thru awards and run his A$$ off taking photos of what was going on of interest. Then back to uploading the racing in realtime.

He was paid very little but did a magnificent job..And satisfied all of us not able to make the races..

I think Poo did a great job especially Key West 2004 but like you said allot of negative people as Poo was banned from the milling area

No doubt Pictorals are great.

I'll volunteer to do one for the Point Pleasant race as I can do it from home each night. If someone different did each race, the coverage would be great and the load easy to carry.

Who's in for Pickwick?

PS - Poo did a great job on Key West.

Im in South America, Ecuador to be exact right now, I may be back in time for Pickwick but it will be close.

Ft Myers I can handle the pits stuff for sure.

Who doesn't like seeing the "CANDID SHOTS" ? ;)

For one example, check out this event:

Ortley Beach, NJ 2005

As you can see I started the coverage for that race a bit early. This gave many of the people coming in from out of town an idea of what to expect to see in the surrounding area.

I always make it a point to get shots of the sponsors and their banners so they are included with the exposure.

I only wish I could be in Pickwick..... :( :( :(

Point Pleasant Beach will probably get double exposure! :D :D
