Thank-you mail
I was thinking of a way to keep race sponsors. I think EVERY team should be required to e-mail or write at least 5 of the main sponsors after each race and personally thank them for there participation in the event that we just held. A copy of each of these letters should also be sent to HQ to keep track of the people doing it. Could you imagine the impact on a sponsor receiving 50 letters and maybe some pics thanking them. I would be willing to bet they would sure be willing to consider doing it the following year. Most of us just put a sticker on the boat and thats it. These people are the ones that allow us to race. I think they deserve more than a sticker on our boat.

Re: Thank-you mail
I would be glad to email any pics or mail prints for races I attend. I've done that for a couple of teams before. This is a great idea.

Great idea Randy!
A few weeks after the Ortley Beach race, I took the family of four out to " Famous Dave's ".
Before we left I asked the waitress to get me the Owner or the Manager. Unfortunately, immediately she thought there was something wrong, but I told her not to worry.
When he arrived, I told him I was in there because I saw that they were a sponsor of the Offshore Race. I figured, how often would they know when they got repeated business after the event without someone speaking up. So I did.
He said they would be back this year!
(Thanks to Augie, they apparently did ok in the pits!)

Was that Randy's idea...wow I'm impressed! MOJO now sends out our sponsors updates and thank you's, but adding the event sponsors to that list would be a great idea. Showing a return for their money is what it's all about!

Re: Thank-you mail
Randy, you are so right. Last year we brought in a lot of sponsors and vendors to the pits in Ortley-Brick. Because the race was on Friday despite all our efforts the pits were relatively unvisited. It makes it very difficult to get these companys to return the folloing year, with just a promise it will be better. As Sharkey also stated, If they see a little response after the fact it goes a long way. Fortunately most of them are returning. Good point. We can supply a list. It is in the back page of the race program. Smitty

Everyone likes to be thanked for what they do. Imagine 50 people thanking you!!! It shows value for there money. The only catch is EVERY ONE needs to be on board. No slackers.
