OSS Parity Ballot
 

As you know, parity has been and is an issue of hot debate. Recently, the issue has been put to the membership in the form of a ballot. However, by the deadline time, only a fraction of the OSS Owners had returned their ballot.

According to OSS General 34-5, "Technical rule changes must be voted on and approved by a 3/4 majority of the currently registered equipment owners of the class affected by the rule change."

Therefore, the ballot has not received the required quorum.

In a meeting on August 16t, the OSS Board decided to take no further action in that matter during the rest of the 2006 reason. If it is the wish of the membership, the matter will be taken up again after the 2006 season for implementation in 2007.

For the interim, the OSS Board instructed the Parity Committee to continue its work until the matter is resolved.
