The gear ratio's were the first thing they checked back at the pits before they started taking things apart. The tool they use is pretty neat.
Oh yeah I'm not barking I would welcome all the manufactures out including Donzi, Cigarette and Formula. I just don't understand how you could have two bad ass Skaters sitting in storage and not race. It would kill me.
The more boats the more fun.

Offshore race boats racing on a pond I dont get it.I think offshore power boat racing needs to look at at OFFSHORE not bath tub racing.On that flat water we should be racing 20 ft flat bottom Hydros at least then they would experience some rough water.Lets go back to the days of Ocean and rough water racing not who can outspend who on who can go faster on smooth water because we can all go fast on the smooth but who can do it all conditions especially in the Ocean.

The Promotors are paying the bill! Biloxi Numbers were awesome for the promotor cash wise, the sport has changed and with the number of teams, a paying site is better than no site! and the races are being introduced to new potential fans. in the last couple years there has been many that travel from Biloxi to Orange beach for the weekend to see the races. Getting a following and having a way to earn cash can only help the sport. When a town supports a race it can only get better year after year.

Unfortunately (for some) the metemorphis of offshore has evolved into something that is more spectator friendly on whatever venue we are fortunate enough to participate in. The "good ole days" when we walked 20 miles to school in the freezing rain went out with the 220 mile offshore race when 40 boats left the sight of spectators who then got "sociable" until 5-6 hours later when the 30% of them came in sight for the finish and except for the privilaged few who saw it from helicopters or seat of another race boat saw about 5% of the whole race. The thrill of mano de mano "whatever" doing battle with 7-8 foot sea's neck to neck with competitor's right next to you in a v=bottom flying through the air, while counting to ten before you hit has been replaced in the number one slot now with magic carpets that fly into the first turn, 6-7 boats across, all fighting for the same 20 ft, wide piece of real estate, at over 125 mph, , until the guys with the best set-up and homework record win. Not a wallet battle but a handful of teams with even equipment racing to win. I gotta tell you the "fast new days" are just as exciting and take a real talent to win. Just the way it is.
