New Orleans is not a bad drive with lower prices and more airline choices. Don't forget VPS which is Ft. Walton Fl..and that way you can also join in with the Emerald Coast Poker Run on Saturday that weekend in Destin. Oh yeah..and the Big party and fireworks show on Friday night at AJ's in the Destin Harbor!
Greatest poker run one day ..Great race the next day and they are only about an hour and half apart!!!

Flying in to OB

Directions are posted on the www.thunderonthegulf.com website from PNS airport (look under the maps section). Although N.O. may have better prices, it is at least a three hour drive to O.B. and the traffic and road construction have been in full swing lately. The drive from PNS is about 45mins and only 4 turns. If you come in around 8-9am in the morning or around 5 in the evening it is moderate, other than that traffic is not bad. Mobile s--ks because you have to go right down the middle of airport blvd. to get to I-10 and then have to put up with traffic through the tunnel and across the bayway.
