Biloxi 2x2 start

Can someone please post the video of the 2x2 start that kevin is talking about

TYPHOON 04-15-2008 08:42 AM

SVL had another confrence call and all teams were present except Worthy Risk (Brad from CA). Lots of talk about the 2x2 start in Biloxi and how to make it even better. Great suggestions from all teams and votes on them to insure this is what the class wants. We decided that a 2x2 start in a straight row would be better than 2X2 staggering the rows behind. After trying it staggered 2X2 we found that there was a potential for teams to jump the start. Another area of concern was the back of the fleet had issues with wash from the staggard start. So in the future plan on seeing a 2X2 straight line back the whole way. You can not leave your position behind the boat in front of you till the green flag goes up.
We discussed Jumping the start or what we felt was a close call. As most racers agreed that when the yellow fall's we all hammer it and dont wait till the green in actually up. There is a one to two second delay and most of us agreed we are not going to let someone else get the jump so we all go at the drop of the yellow anyway. The solution we feel is so simple. Mark from Under Distruction suggested we dont need the yellow flag at all on the start. we all know who the pace boat is. Take us down the shoot and raise the green flag instead.
We also agreed that a team can miss one race and receive last place points if they couldnt make it. This will keep the team in the hunt for a national title and not blow them out for the season if they cant make one race.
I am so proud to be a part of this class with the passion all these teams have and sportsmanship we all have to help each other. These are truly racers that want to race as many boats as possible and are willing to sacrifice possible victories for better racing.
Of course these subjects are all up for review by the board and have not been approved yet.

Also working on possibly the biggest fleet of SVL yet to race in Havasu. Stay tuned!!!!!!

Sorry I missed the phone call. I am extremely busy at the shop getting customers boats ready for the spring, there is no way I could have taken the call in the middle of the afternoon. I am fine with all of your decisions. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at Havasue.

Trophy and Big Ed are leaving this Sat. to get a head start. Picking up the boat at Rick Trumells in NC and doing 3000 miles from there. Should be there by Thur. Lets do some simple math. 6500 miles at 5 mpg @ $345. per gal who has the answer?

Theres a place called the Big Texan in Amarillo, Tx that serves a 72 oz steak. If you eat it along with a baked potato, a salad and a shrimp cocktail in one hour its free. If it's open when we pass thru I think I'll accept the challege.:evilb:

Ron P 04-17-2008 09:51 PM

Go for it Big Ed! You can do it.:)

TYPHOON 04-21-2008 04:17 PM

Just got the call from Big Ed. He is 120 miles away from that big 72 OZ steak. He has been training for this his whole life and now we will see if it all paid off.

Hey Colby - are you ready for your first race with these guys? Everyone except Willy is on thier way west.

I just spoke to Big Eddie. He put up a valiant effort but couldn't finish it. They had him on a stage, under hot lights and everyone was cheering but the meat was dry and over cooked. He just couldn't get it down. He's got 26 ounces left in a doggy bag for the rest of the ride and he's still hungry.

He said to tell Randy the head is clogged and the transmission is slipping and all Jimmy has to fix both is a hammer. Sounds like another rough night in the dog pound for the Typhoon crew.:D

Aqua Banshee 04-22-2008 09:42 AM

Better watch out for Jenny. She has been shopping. New race shirts, from Ryan, new special custom 5 bladed shiny thing from Throttle Up. Guaranteed 2 mph faster than Typhoon, and what motivates Jenny, 2 new swin suits.

heater63 04-22-2008 09:50 AM

hey Colby! When you go by them let me know if there is two or three guys in the truck. If there is only two then the other guys is still in the engine compartment.

TYPHOON 04-22-2008 05:08 PM

The boys and Trophy are 350 miles from Havasu.
