Congrts to Mike and George Stancomb for two great races, no mistake "Who"s The Man"

The two race format made a huge difference, now all the teams have a chance to change set ups if they make a mistake or repair in between races and come out again. Fury lost a blower belt in the 5th lap in the first race and the Mercury Crew got to work, everyone was in the pits making some change, WHM also had Mercury get them going again, props were changing weight moving around, crews runnning around evrywhere, it kinds a like a Nascar pit stop, maybe soon we'll need bleachers for the fans to see the pits in between rounds. It gave us the chance to come back out and take the win from CRC in the second race and give us enough points to finish 2 nd overalll on the day. Thanks to everyone that made this happen it was the best racing so far, Thanks to Alan from Mercury especially, he got us back in the race.

I did like the format. I was wondering what happened to Fury.....I was recording them on the camcorder and watched them come to a stop w/ some smoke out of the hatches. 2nd heat that boat was flying.....CRC was out front again but Fury passed them right where I was......great race.

I was wondering about the lack of Super Vee boats? Looking back through some of the OSS results from previous races it seems like the same thing......anybody know why? Just curious cause I was expecting to see more boats.

Some moved on to other things , some got caught cheating,
some could not bankroll what it took to run a Super Vee.

It sux , however Vee Light is great to watch and a fraction of the cost to run. And Cat OB is also a great way to go on a limited budget. I am sure some others will chime in with their opinions.

And some moved to P classes for a better chance to win.

whats a ballpark figure to run a Vee Lite? I figured a lot of it had to do w/ $$ and many couldn't afford to pay what it cost to run a team like that. I figured that would be the case w/ the big cats.....but I guess w/ the sponsors....it's makes all the difference.

approx rough numbers

new boat 150 k
props 10k
trailer5k
safety, communication gear $5,000
misc stuff 5k

all above can be bought used for 80k

tow rig 30k ( pick up truck)

annual expenses
2250 equip reg
300 each riding crew

race expenses
tow rig fuel avg: 1500
race fuel 200
hotel (3 nights) 500
airfare 250 pp

once you have the boat...............figure 30k a year to run
