The Toronto races were held at Ontario Place and it was a great race site, but the spectator viewing sucked. You would see them go by the stands and then out into the lake and in about 5 minutes they would come back again, really not that exciting after about a while. Sent them letters asking them to have the boats come closer to the stands and to change the race course with a diagram, so the boats could go by more often and like I said closer to the spectators. They never change it to much and the last race was an OSS race. APBA raced their with the GLSCS. Lets face it, people want to see the boats come as close as possible to them and they don't want to have a long course they want a shorter course about 4-5 miles in length so the boats can go by them more often and create continuous race action. These are the kinds of race courses that every Org. should be looking for, the St. Clair River Classic is a good example. One of the bigger races, with a big boat count, great place to hold a race where the City welcomes everybody year after year. The BWORA has done there home work and have produced a great race site. This year they had shortened the race course for all P- Class boats and it was great. I would like to see all the boats racing on the shorter course and still come a little closer to shoreline in front of the Boardwalk Park. Love that race and my wife always loved the Ontario Place race site, one of her favorite's.

May have raised more money tonight for the SVL class.

If Canada ever took off...CNE like AB said, but change the course so their not 20 mile's out into lake Ontario for 5 minutes. More advertising...I think that was a huge mistake in 05! OSS didn't do enough marketing, get the media involved...get the mayor involved...hell, I'll even throw up a $5,000 donation to OSS charity of choice.

Other places to look into....Horseshoe Bay, right out in front of Vancover, BC .....Confederation Basin, out in front of Kingston, Ontario [Ask Aqua Mania out of Alex Bay if the St, Lawrence is good].....somewhere in Montreal? Maybe not even Canada but northern states...just spread it out a little. 9 races in Florida is great for Floridians but the rest of North America suffers!
