Oss In 2009!!!!!

OSS had a all members conference call last night. Ron laid out some of the new fresh ideas to make the racing better in 09. Ron has been a busy beaver this last year and has put together a full schedule. I believe he will post it shortly. Heat racing is just one of the OSS ideas that will really keep the racing interesting. He also wished all the races good luck in KW.

I would say the same as this year. Have you heard of someone not coming back?

Ron needs to have someone update the site...as in new pic's for all the teams and boat / engine update information...or have a new one put up.

These Mystics sure will be fun to watch in Cat Unlimited...we have (Budweiser, Geico, JBS, Aquamania & Cintron) Now if we could just get boats to run on alcohol we would be laughing.

No I havent, just naive enough to think that possibly there could be some common thinking about a unification attempt at some juncture - 45 boats in Key West..... kind of tells the story.

We agree... that is what I was driving at,, 45 boats and I'm guessing 8 to 10 classes.

That is not a great turnout (45) race boats for the Offshore Powerboat Racing World Championships. The economy is definitely in melt down and people don't know if they will have a job tomorrow or if they will still have a business to run. For anyone who lives and works in the automotive industry, parts industry, boating industry, housing industry or anything associated with the auto makers knows exactly what I am talking about, there is a spin off effect. If the auto industry goes down with all it's high paying jobs, that once stimulated the economy, we will see more bad news and times. Also maybe the poor turn out for the Offshore World Championship, is a glimpses of things to come if Offshore Racing orgs. don't try and work something out for the future. The writing is in the wall and the time is right, no, it is a necessity for "United We Race" if there is going to be Offshore Racing in the near future, we need everyone to race together to make a great show of it.
