!! Lake Cumberland Grand Prix !!

As we move into March the start of the 09' Race Season is just around the corner and everyones itching for the high powered, adrenaline filled sport we all know and love. Here's a little info. to start the season out right and build some anticipation that will get the momentum of this years race season moving.

:evilb::evilb: We are in the final stages of planning our event on Lake Cumberland. This is going to be an a phenonmenal race site and an off-the-charts weekend of fun and activities. Our racers and fans will get the chance to experience something a little different. The average hotel will be luxury boatels and rooms on/near the water & well known dock parties will be top notch with live music, water-side meet & greets, and spectacular food.

Racers Village will be water side with around-the-corner access to the cranes. Vendor/ banner space will be available in racers village for a fee.

On-Land Spectators will be able to watch the action from areas just beside racers village. VIP areas will be available.... Details will be released momentarily. On- Water Spectators will be able to watch the action from a variety of different locations. As well, VIPS boats will be available for viewing.... fees vary.... details will be released momentarily.

Questions have been raised about Lake Cumberland being a "Dry" County. Please understand that this means there is no where to purchase alcohol in the county, however it is not in any way illegal to consume alcohol. This is a BYOB event.

A variety of volunteers will be needed at this race, on and off water. Anyone interested in volunteering please contact the race producer at the information provided below.

Further details will be released momentarily. We welcome everyone to this race and express our excitment towards what we feel is going to be a spectacular event.

Bad information. You can consume alcohol in the privacy of your own home/hotel/boatel room etc. But you will get a ticket in a heartbeat for drinking in public. On the deck of your boat is in public. In the cabin isn't. Walking around the docks is a crap shoot. Law enforcement usually looks the other way for the dock parties at state dock, but it isn't really legal.
Don't do anything stupid to draw attention to yourself, and you won't have any problems. I

This is the key:
Don't do anything stupid to draw attention to yourself, and you won't have any problems.

Make sure the you are not drinking from a bottle. Put it in a cup. If from a can make sure the can is not visable just to be safe.

Did they get the Dam fixed? Do they have water in the lake now?

 The dam project is gonna be another four years. The lake was lowered 20 ft. below normal low level, not drained. With the shoreline of cumberland being so steep, that means shoreline is about 10 feet in from where it usually is. Plenty of water to play with. The biggest bonus is all the misinformed people who have stayed away the last two years.

Good, Such a nice lake :drink:

That's the purpose of having the race so early in the year, to let locals know that there's plenty of water in the lake.

they are usually lenient during events such as poker runs and such....i've seen wheel barrels full of liquor and being poured straight into peoples mouths at state dock during poker run weekends in front of authorities....try that the weekend after the poker run and you will be dealt with accordingly....they don't want to mess with folks during these events so they will keep coming back...it's all about the money....
