PARTNER FOR 2009 POWERBOAT RACING SEASON
SAN DIEGO — March 10, 2009 — WD-40 Company is partnering with the Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association for the 2009 powerboat racing season as it looks for ways to further engage boating enthusiasts – one of the company’s key consumer groups.
WD-40® and Lava® heavy-duty hand cleaner, both made by WD-40 Company, will be provided to 28 racing teams and used for prizes, giveaways and promotional purposes at the series’ eight events during the 2009 racing season, which begins March 26 in Biloxi, Miss.
“WD-40 Company’s partnership with OSS is a natural fit, as many boating enthusiasts already rely on our products to help maintain their boats,” said Tim Lesmeister, vice president of marketing for WD-40 Company. “We’re sure these teams and their fans can find hundreds of more uses for the products and are proud to support the growing sport of powerboat racing.”

As a kid going to the race every summer in Pt Pleasant;I remember the blue and yellow WD-40 sponsored Bertram open class race boat.I think the boat raced in 1975 and 1976.It is great to see the company come back as a supporter of offshore powerboat racing.Congratulations OSS.
