A category has been added to the Photos section for the Race in Sarasota this weekend. If you post the pictures there they will re-size and be very clear.

Way to go SBI & APBA!

Re: Sarasota Updates...Post em here
From APBA's site:
Today, in a historical move announced by Super Boat International Productions President, John Carbonell, and the APBA Offshore Racing Association President, Jim Poplin, the two organizations have agreed to share the water by attending each others events, while protecting the individual personalities of each racing organization. At the Drivers Meeting, the news received a standing ovation from the racing community. “It has only assured us all that we have made the right decision, and it’s a move that allows us to return the sport of offshore powerboat racing back to the racers. We couldn’t be more pleased,” said Poplin. Carbonell was equally enthusiastic This is awesome news!!! APBA also shows they will be in Key West racing with them as well!!!http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/i...ons/banana.gif |

Re: Sarasota Updates...Post em here
Lobsterboy is alive and well in North Carolina but I dont think the internet carrier pigeons can reach to his house. as far as the APBA and SBI goes it is not a "merger" but rather a colaborative effort by both groups to share certain venues to create a better show and better events for the racers. both groups will operate under their own rules and points systems and have agreed to not place races on coflicting dates to make it easier for the racers to attend events with both groups. the shared events are North Carolina, Orange Beach, Deerfield Beach for the Nationals and Key West for the Worlds. The independent events are Milwaukee(APBA), Fort Walton Beach(APBA), New York(SBI) and Dania Beach(SBI) and as always any racers from either series is welcome to attend any and all events. Good luck and safe racing to all.

Bruce,
From the way it looks I think your right. I know there is the one time rule but if I remember correctly I think it was only 1 mph over your aver. in your class. Frank "Koolhand" |
