Another idea
 

Have the race organizers post all the company's that have put in sponsorship money at each event. If the racers new well in advance who put up the $ we as racers should patronize there rest.,hotels and stores a lot more. We have our favored night clubs hotels and rest. but we should give back more to the sponsors establishments. It shows value to these company's and makes it easier to ask for sponsorship the next time. Hotels that don't sponsor at least 2-3 teams shouldn't be mentioned as places to stay at on any board.
Rest/bars have great value by sponsoring races. Take Jenkins in Point NJ,they have a racers party with good food and open bar for 2 hrs and then NO ONE LEAVES. They also put up money for the race. There are lots of bars on the boardwalk but ALL the racers and fans go to Jenkinsons and they make lots of money because of the races.
Moral of the post would be take care of the hand that feeds and you will most likely receive more.

Talkoffshore will do their part for the sponsors of race boats:

For each major sponsor of a race team we will record and air their 30 sec spot ad "Free of Charge" to at least 10000+ listeners and at least twice during a race broadcast.

Sponsors or race teams must provide a 30 sec or 60 sec script to [email protected] and put "Support Offshore Racing" in the subject line (to get through the spam filter)

We have stepped up, now all you racers or sponsors have to do is to send it in. Don't be left out.

We run the ad way way over our contracts and at the races we run them many times throughout the race. When we do the Public Address you could get close to 1 million listens. Well maybe not that many but if you run it 10 times @ 50K that's pretty good.

We like to give our customers at least twice the buy or more. The races are alot more listeners especially if we do the Public Address up and down the beach. If we do the local radio broadcast and the beach public address then we pick up the radio staion listeners as well for some of our spots.

OK, we're doing our part, who is going to step up and help the team's sponsors next.

Shane I get the the racers packet but when they list hotels are they all helping with sponsorship for teams or the organization? Or are they just local hotels to stay for our convince? Racers party's should have what is being offered such as a dinner,open bar,music and if we the race teams are paying for everything or are they sponsoring a happy hour for teams in uniform? There is nothing worse than being invited to a racers party and showing up with the team to find out you have to buy tickets to eat and drink. I thought racers party's were to thank the teams for coming to there establishments and bringing in the fans and towns people to spend THERE MONEY. I'm not saying its free all night but a buffet and open bar for 2 hours shouldn't be to much to ask. Racer's are great tippers and typically will stay and spend there money there well after the free bee's are up.
