New Jersey’s Coty Marine becomes Cigarette’s newest dealer
TOMS RIVER, N.J. --- Coty Marine, a long-established and well-respected sales and service dealer of high performance boats with four locations along central New Jersey’s Atlantic coast, has become Cigarette Racing Team’s newest dealer.
Coty Marine’s main location is in Tom’s River on Silver Bay with a 100 slip marina and 1,000 ft. of highway store frontage. The other three N. J. locations are in Perth Amboy, Seaside Heights and Waretown.
Skip Braver, President and CEO of Cigarette said, “With great passion for the marine business, the Coty family has been selling and servicing boaters in the New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania region for two decades. Their growth with four strategic locations along the Atlantic shore plus their very active involvement in eight area boat shows is a great asset and we’re proud to have them as a member of our team creating excitement in this industry.”
“Being a Cigarette Racing Team dealer is prestigious,” said Richard Coty Jr., Coty Marine Operations Manager. “Lots of high performance boats are called ‘cigarette style boats’ but there’s only one Cigarette.”
The business began 20 years ago when as a hobby the Coty family bought a small outboard racing shop in Patterson, N. J., building and selling race motors. They expanded selling outboard engines for family recreation boats, eventually becoming the world’s largest Mercury outboard dealer.
“Back then boats weren’t as fast as they are today,” said Coty Jr. “As the outboard market softened we began selling and servicing high performance boats, then pleasure boats and continued to grow the whole spectrum of the business. As president of the company my father (Richard Coty Sr.) is very active in the business that now covers the full range of family and high performance boating. What was once a hobby, our business has changed quite a bit.”
