Tenth National Championship Title for Budweiser Select Offshore Team
Preparation and success all year led to title despite engine problems

POST RACE FACTS
– Inaugural offshore powerboat race on Lake of the Ozarks
– Budweiser Select Offshore Team brought home 10th national title
– Budweiser Select 44’ MTI competed in races Saturday and Sunday
– 21 boats competed in POPRA race on Saturday
– Budweiser Select Team took second place Saturday
– 24 boats competed in National Championship on Sunday

“It certainly isn’t the way we wanted the whole weekend to go. We broke an engine on the 50’ Mystic during testing on Friday, so we had to run the 44’ MTI in both races Saturday and Sunday. The 50’ Mystic was the boat we had set-up to run for the national title. After it broke, the guys worked hard Friday night to put all new parts on the 44’ MTI. However, one of the new blower belts broke today on lap four.”

“It’s a big disappointment, but it is also reality. It is racing and these things happen. It’s just unfortunate it had to happen here. But we worked hard to have success all year in OSS, and our hard work, dedication and those wins allowed us to still be able to bring home the national title this year, and I’m extremely happy about that. Now we can move on to the SBI World Championships in Key West in November.”
