2007 Offshore Super Series National High Points Contingency Purse Winners

FOND DU LAC, Wis. Oct. 16, 2007 – Mercury Racing is pleased to announce winners of the $75,000 Offshore Super Series (OSS) National High Points contingency prize purse for the 2007 racing season. The purse is to reward racers who use Mercury Racing-approved outboards and sterndrives in OSS National Series events in OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard class competition.

Mercury Racing supported the contingency programs by providing onsite support at all 2007 OSS race events, with the legendary Mercury Racing offshore powerboat racing product support truck and staff.

Mercury Racing supported the 2007 OSS season with a $150,000 purse consisting of $75,000 contingency for OSS National Series title winners and $75,000 contingency for individual OSS National Series race event and World Championship winners.

The $75,000 purse for OSS National Series title winners is distributed to the top five places in OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard classes, based on the total points each race boat accumulates in the OSS National Series during the 2007 race season.

The $75,000 purse for the winners at each individual OSS National Series event was distributed in OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard class competition. Each first place class winner using Mercury Racing-approved HP525 EFI engines and OSS class-approved sterndrives, or Mercury Racing 2.5 EFI Offshore Race outboards in the OSS National Series for the 2007 racing season, were awarded a retail value promotional credit per event. The overall World Championship title winners in these classes will also be awarded a retail value promotional credit.

5th Place - $1,000 (Shocker Racing)/Richard Prince

1st Place - $12,000 (Miccosukee Indian Gaming)/Bad Apple Racing Inc.
2nd Place - $6,000 (Fury)/Ray Delaney
3rd Place - $4,000 (Outerlimits)/Outerlimits Powerboats
4th Place - $2,000 (Yachts Fountain)/Michel Karsenti
5th Place - $1,000 (Bad Boys Powerboats)/Tony Pacheco

1st Place - $6,000 (Screamin Eagle)/Allen Campbell
2nd Place - $3,000 (Wild Ride)/Larry Kostelac
