OUTERLIMITS POWERBOATS AND OSG RACING TEAM UP WITH NEOPOLITANS
FOR 2008 POWERBOAT P1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The Powerboat P1 Evolution Class SV 43 Outerlimits Powerboat owned by Giancarlo Cangiano, of the “Operazione San Gennaro” OSG Racing Team, is supported by a large, prestigious contingent of neighboring businesses from the Naples, Italy area.
The American-built boat is of the highest quality epoxy and carbon fiber construction, post-cured in a computer controlled oven for impeccable finish, light-weight strength and durability. Outerlimits Powerboats was founded 15 years ago by Mike Fiore, who continues to perfect the design and construction of each custom-built boat. “This boat was built specifically for the requirements of Powerboat P1,” states Fiore, “We learned from racing last year that the combination of sprint and endurance courses and the variable nature of the international seas were ideal for the Outerlimits hull. The Mercury Racing 711 engines were also designed for the power-to-weight ratio, so we feel we have a winning combination in this #88 boat.”
Kiton, the upscale fashion house, founded in 1970 by Ciro Paone, was recently named title sponsor. Having expanded from exclusive men’s suits into sportswear, footwear, fragrances, furnishings and a women’s line, this lifestyle brand is ideally suited to the OSG team who shares Paone’s passion for artistry in clothing and the finest in style.
SNAV returns as a long-standing partner of the OSG Racing Team. Owned by the MSC group, SNAV is a leading company in the Mediterranean maritime transport industry. With the fastest fleet in Europe and a wide range of services and vessels, including cruise ferries, hydrofoils, and catamarans, SNAV connects Italy with many islands throughout the Mediterranean.
European Logistic Hub (Interporto Sud Europa Spa) complements the OSG Team by providing the ground and rail transport and storage of European goods. This company, headed by the Barletta group, is the primary logistic hub of moving goods throughout Southern Italy.
Besana, a major processor and broker of nuts and dried fruit, coordinates the production of over 2,000 growers. With various production and commercial plants in Italy and abroad, Besana completes the fruit and vegetable chain, “from the field to the fork.”
Tramontano Leathers further promotes the stylish look of the OSG by providing waterproof leather jackets and accessories. The custom leather artisan house has since 1865 provided the finest of leather accessories to purveyors of fine fashion throughout the world.
Sparco is the global leader in motorsport safety and performance accessories and provides top-quality, technology and uniquely designed racing accessories for the OSG Team. “Passion, Performance, Safety” – an ideal match for OSG.
Soft Marine upholstery was a natural choice of OSG as the leading name in marine upholstery for over 50 years. Top design, experience, technology and craftsmanship are valued both by Soft Marine and OSG racing.
Naples Yacht Club (Circolo Canottieri Napoli) is Cangiano’s “home port” and an important member of the Italian sporting field. C.C.N. has a long tradition in powerboating and in partnership with the OSG Racing Team. The successful relationship continues.
OSG Racing will also field a second team in the SuperSport Class to complement its Evolution Class entry. “We will cover both classes so that OSG Racing can claim two titles in one year!” states Cangiano, “We have a winning combination of style, talent and power!”
