Potter Performance Engines New Facility

Ron and Liz Potter, principals of Potter Performance Engines, Inc. are very proud to announce the opening of their new and expanded high performance marine engine design, development and manufacturing facility in Bradenton, FL.

Their new shop is located just off Rte 301 in Bradenton and is conveniently located just 4 miles from Rte 75 and 3 miles from the Sarasota/Bradenton airport.

Their first engine shop, at 2500 square feet, was a great starting point but, within the first 2 years of operation, they rapidly out-grew that facility. Their new 12,000 square foot facility includes a showroom, offices, build room, in house machine shop and parts department.

Due to customer request, Ron is now offering high performance automotive engines and customizing under the newly established Potter Super Cars, Inc.

Ron stated “We received requests from many customers asking us to rebuild their high performance automotive engines over the past couple of years. Since our shop is only 20 miles from the Bradenton drag strip we found ourselves doing a lot of machine work for local racers and other engine shops as well. I worked in the automotive repair business for over 25 years as well as building high performance marine engines. We felt the time was right to start a high end automotive speed shop. If a customer wants a super charger added, a lift kit installed in their truck, or just wants to get more performance from their 350 Z, we want them to feel they will get the same level of customer service and attention to detail as our marine customers. We’ve hired Brad Clark, previously of Relentless RPM in Port Charlotte, to manage the automotive division. Our diversity is reflected in the type of work we currently have in the shop. From a 1960 Corvette full mechanical restoration, a Nissan 300 ZX twin turbo build, to a 1999 Mustang turbo 9 second drag car it is clear that we are open to all high performance possibilities.”

In addition to the new facility and automotive expansion, Potter Performance has expanded their parts business under the name Potter Performance Products Inc. Due to the increasing stresses and loads on marine valve tranes, Potter Performance Products has their own severe duty marine lifters made entirely in the USA.
