the ideal race would be one class at a time , however I realize that it would not be feasible due to time constaints, so the next best thing is to start one class at a time with the classes in a given race having + or - 10 mph diff average speed this accomplishes two things it allows people to fairly race other racers in there class ( without bigger boats hoseing them down or taking thier lane and or smaller slower boats getting in your way forcing you to take the long way around the course ) I don't think other classes should influence the outcome of a classes race: second it makes it easy for fans if all boats racing are in the same class, ( or just as good if the race has say SV and SCL easy to tell the v's from the cats)
just my two cents and we have raced both ways one or two classes and many

It's been proven in many other classes of racing that fan interest lapses after 3 hours.

A shorter course with many boats is the most exciting. Who in the hell wants to sit/stand and wait 3-5 minutes to hear a VAROOOM and a 1 second glimpse of a boat no matter what class.

Small course & deck to deck racing will win fan appeal every time (not necessarily the drivers desire).

Dry pits and wet pits is where the fan REALY sees sponsors logos/decals and it's the sponsor who actually pays for the racing. AND its the return on investment that the sponsor lives for.

AND don't forget the checker flag parade ( correct or incorrect) as the races end.

Without it is like sitting down BUT NOT EATING an Italian meal of salad, bread, regatoni and sausage, wine and dessert, then leaving the table empty.

Racers do it for the love of the sport and compeitition and the fan for the same.

Now what the hell was the question??

See ya

Ron P.. get me in with the mayor so I can get good photos...from the pier...

Thanks..

Ron...

Last year they would not let us "OUTSIDERS" moter thanone quarter way on the pier unless we had a specialband and badge representing the "MAYOR".

I showed the guard everthing except my XXXXX and could not get on.. BUT.. After the firts races I (after a couple of Johnny Walker Reds, walked right by him and mixed at the end of the pier with the Mayors friends and family not to mention a few KA's.

These two are not bad....

Put this poll in GD. Why ask here where most people are racers or related to the teams in some way?

Let the GD board post thier thoughts. Might be better to get a feel for the "real" public instead of people in this section that are already fans.

OK, it's in the GD section. Similar but more detailed.
