This is a pic of Enforcer going back out after everyone, not just those involved with the race, I mean "everyone" came in to port. It (water) turned ugly (Approx...3:59pm) after the race especially going Northbound. Good job Enforcer!!!!

Tony, since most of the higher ups have not even arrived home by now I will send a thanks out to all the volunteers. Please remember that your efforts are appreciated and draw satisfaction in the idea that you participated in a great event and without you they would not happen. That being said thanks to guys like Smitty, Sticks, and Augie that spend about 1/2 their lives doing things to make these races happen with the only true reward being able to go out on the race course and do thousands of dollars worth of damage to their boats and bodies. Everyone that has some part in making these races happens is appreciated-all the way to the casual fan that just happens by and hangs out for a while, it is sometimes hard to thank everyone when you are already busy on the next one

We would like to thank everyone involved in making this great event happen.Unfortunately,we had a mechanical failure right after the start and went dead in the water.Special thanks to Will Lynch and the crew aboard "Lynch Mob" for towing us into the inside of the course and out of the way. Thanks also to the other boat that towed us all the way back to the ramp in very difficult conditions. To all the land and water volunteers; we cant say thank you enough. We look forward to racing in Ocean City for many years to come.See you in Cambridge.

Re: Volunteers For Oc Race

Thanks racers and sponsors, please don't think my frustrations are directed at anyone in particular.

I am just venting and echoing what I have been hearing all weekend. Perhaps this is why these events are always short on volunteers.

As you racers know, a lot of time, prep and money goes into a race. The organizers should also remember that there is a huge expense in being a volunteer.

I live 10 minutes from Sunset Marina and spent a lot of $$$, took two days of vacation, got yelled at by my wife and got moved around by Sunset Marina Staff everytime I docked my boat (even after I told them I needed to load divers on my boat) It was very frustrating. I was there to help, hell I even knew the staff at Sunset. I guess it's time to tightem them up with the red and blues. :D

I know you guys and gals put a lot on the line including your life when you get in these boats. I enjoyed seeing you come back to OC. I met a lot of great people. I know the organizers were busy, I was with ron every 2 seconds his phone rang.

Thank you for responding to the post and thank you for bringing back the Offshore Races to Ocean City. It was great seeing it here again.

The organizers should designate someone to see that the volunteers are taken care of.

Carmen Electra comes to mind. :drink:

Tony, a proper thank you will be forthcoming via email to everyone associated with this event.... later tonight.

But especially to you for braving the elements to pickup the markers.

We all learned a lot this weekend, some good, some bad, definitely room for improvement in many ways next year.

Hope you had fun being a part of it.

Ron
