Not a problem then Smitty. The newly re-riged Raylar open cockpit Pleasure/Race boat runs 74.99 MPH.

See you in Destin.

Really? I guess my GPS (like the Warlock) was broke in Vegas. No sandbagging Brian. You need to run your toys with the right Boys. Good luck in Destin.

We have been very careful with the class placements. All new teams racing in Destin . Bring spare numbers. We place you, you dont get to pick. And yes we run your boat. Smitty

Re: OPA list

Hope not. Still need to load up the 525's/ Junior is taking away my horsepower. Says 4 drives in one week is insane. Gonna be boring. SV should go back to #6's and BIG power. 525's are for kids. Turn those steps at 130. Yeehaa.

Jim give me a break! First of all you don't have a clue as to how fast I ran as you were running way off the pace with apparent engine problems. I was proped as you were for for average lap speed of 75. The 3 complete laps we ran before breaking down were run under that maximum average lap speed.

You did win that race right? What class should you be running?

We are rigged and proped for class 5 and welcome Smitty and Anthony to take her for a run when we get to town.

It's a funny thing I have similar concerns about other boats that we will be racing with in the class. I know that there are some pretty built power plants, far exceeding the output of our 525. Yet I know that Smitty and Anthony have done a great job inspecting and testing the boats so that they are set-up to run within the class limits.

With that said the only people that need to be concerned with our boat at this time are Smitty and Anthony and like I said they are welcome to run the crap out of it !

......................................... just no spinning it out for fun again :D Crazy bastards!

Ron;

Back to the subject of the list. There are two other POPRA boats that are expected to make the trip out to Destin. Both Class 4:

#428 Music Giants
#433 Sea Flash

I hope to hear from some others.

Hey Brian,

I added those two boats, thanks.

Everyone racing with OPA/POPRA in Destin needs to have the proper GPS tracking unit on board. Please go to www.oparacing.com and click the GPS link for full instructions on how to order and how to install properly.

OPA doesn't use average speed, we use exact speed. In fact, these units allow us to read your exact speed every three second throughout the entire race. So if your class tops out at 75mph, you can never exceed that speed, anywhere on the course.

These units also allow us to see GPS spikes and omit them, like the boat that came in with a speed of 423mph in St Clair. We could see the error and throw it out. He never broke out of his bracket. These units have worked really well, as long as you install them properly and turn them on before the race starts. Call Harold, he'll hook you up.
