Yet another Class 6 Question - - - Seriously

I was looking at a "Cheap" Carrera - 257 Effect single engine cat, now according to the rules that's legal, right?

Just wondering before I venture out to look at her, it’s cheap but need a motor, Drive, Exhaust...lot’s of parts.

Some one just listed a Velocity real cheap , needs motor and drive. I don't think a cat is class 6 legal.

Rick I'd stay away from the single engine cat. Gonna be a$$ heavy and cat hulls typically don't start working until around the min speed for class 6. Cats suck when they're not packing air and just plowing through the water...this is true for handling and performance. I would assume a Carrera has a center pod which helps but still this is less than ideal...you really want a drive following each sponson.

If you must go cat stick with a twin o/b...IMHO.

From the 2007 OPA Book - So I guess it's ok...

Performance Class 6 is designed as an entry level class. No boats over 26
feet in length and no boats with twin engines may compete in this class.

I did see that Velocity today, but after seeing Crocketts come apart I think I should stay away from those boats.

Never even noticed that part about twin engines...guess that motion wasn't an option either....

Nope - Single engine 26ft and under...But I do want a 25 or so that I can move up to 5 if the boat will handle it with out killing me or even class 4 like Bounty Hunter :evilb:
