Blue impellor
Has anyone tried one of these blue impellors? do they really last if you run them dry for a while?

Yep good stuff

But if your cooling system is marginal they will not pump as much as a black one-in some boats they cause overheating. Best bet is to try one and see(not during a race) :p

Randy, I have them in my boat and they work fine dry. BUT... I have bronze housings not FRP.

Is there any reason someone hasnt CNCe'd the housings yet? I would think they would sell like hot cakes. Get rid of the plastic that cracks and burns groves and go with a life time housing and just replace the cheap impellors.
Great idea for someone with a CNC machine. MD |

Randy, Jabsco makes a bronz replacement pump (Merc Replacement) like the crank driven pump that I use and I have run it dry several times and have gotten sand in it and it and it still works, the plastic housing has no forgivness.

The Blue Ones I Had Never Seemed To Pump As Much Water As The Black Ones Which Caused Some Heating Issues For Me-- I Dont Think Id Race One.
