Default Most comfortable / best Life Jackets for Canopied boat

What are you guys with tops running? I know manual inflation is a must but I see so many different kinds of jackets priced between $70 to 300. the rule book reads

In the restrained cockpit: It is recommenced that all personal flotation devices worn meet or exceed current published standards regarding impact material. The following inflatable flotation is strongly encouraged: A five pound (5 lb) maximumnatural buoyancy personal flotation device with additional total fifty pound (50lb) personally activated incremental flotation is highly recommended. This PFD must inflate to display 70% visible yellow or orange and support the head and neck above the waterline so as to maintain a patent airway. This jacket must be designed so as not to
hinder restraint harness release.

Most every picture I have seen on OPA has teams wearing jackets like this..

So is this ok?

We used Switlik. They are comfortable and durable. Go to their web page and look under aviation life vests for the helicopter crew vests.

I chose the non auto inflates. If we flip and the canopy fills we wont auto inflate and be stuck on the floor, if we are unconcious and weve blown out a portal were in bad shape already, dont need to be pinned in there.

Manual is the only way to go, I'll agree with you on that.

We at SRP (Security Race Products) make the AirVest that many racing teams use. They come in multiple colors and we can embroider your team logos in them too along with strips. They start at $275.
www.SecurityRace.com and I'll try and dig up some pictures of them. Ask Dave Scott he uses our jackets in his Bud Select boat. Below are pics of our Poker Run Vest but the air vest can look basically the same.
And what ever you buy, DO NOT buy "auto inflatables".

Good luck, Ben
