D A M N that was a close call guy's. No more of that stuff. I love the way Gerardi shows us getting ejected on the beginning of the crash tape. The new music rocks Jeff!

Let me help you out here. You DO NOT want to put seat belts in any open cockpit boat. The seat belts in a canopy boat are to prevent you from hitting the canopy itself from inside the boat and other parts of the interior of the canopy. The reason that open cockpit boats don't use belts is so that you are normally throw clear or the boat and not held in the boat as it rolls or tumbles. Water tears things apart including your body. Imagine that you are strapped into your boat (open cockpit) and the boat rolls or stuffs. The water even at 70 mph will tear you completely out of you life vest and skin and what ever is tied down will remain tied and the rest will be torn out by the pressure of the water. Your helmet will be removed (without un-strapping it) and most like it will take your head with it. Please don’t ever put seat belt in an open cockpit boat, it would not be good for most any accident. Sorry to be so graphic but this is the reason that racing bodies do not want you to use seat belts in an open cockpit boat. Should you or anyone else have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Ben Hedrick

Ben I know that everything you stated is very true, but getting thrown in the path of another race boat is not good for the body either. With that said, we will not be putting seat belts in our boat, but what is the lesser evil?
