So what happened?

I expected to see a lost drive or a broken prop on the starboard side, but that was not the case.
I don't think anyone is positively sure as to what happened. I heard reports of the tunnel tab being way down and they went to make a correction on their heading to avoid another boat. Some say the boat blew over, cork screwed and landed on the starboard rear corner. But unless someone comes forward with video or more pics, it will remain unclear just as to what happened. Hopefully the crew will regain their memory as to what happened in more detail. But from what I heard, at first they couldn't remember too much other then alot of water being over their canopy which could lead them to think they were upside down. But also look at the amount of water rushing over the top just in my photos. My 1st thought was it just spun out. But after hearing other reports, I can't say one way or the other that I know for sure it blew over... |
A big cruiser had just passed minutes before leaving a big wake, I only saw out of the corner of my eye the end, but the people in front were saying they flipped.

Yes, jeff
I seen the tab was all the way down, again didnt see the whole thing, just the end and the end product. Glad both are OK, Brian and wilma are great people and a asset to any race organization, I hope they have a speedy return althought looking at the aftermath of thier incident, the boat took a pounding! In Pickwick on Saturday "Shocker" Spun in the Dam turn, and the tab was down. |
