28 with twin 525's might be a bit much. Single is the way to go with that hull. Probably handle much better to.

A 28 Pantera actually rus pretty good with 2 big blocks. We have a friend with one and it's called OPA ( after the Greek food). Should run mid 80's.

What is the speed bracket in class 4 & 5?

Where is the schedule? How do you get signed up etc? What kind of safety gear?

I think these would be better questions to have answered.

Class speeds :
# 6 - 70mph
# 5 - 75mph
# 4 - 85mph
# 3 - 95mph
# 2 - 105mph
# 1 - 115mph

Check www.OPAracing.org for an event schedule and rule book. You will need a couple full face helmets and Life line or equivalent life jackets at the very least for gear.

Donz,
The "Carrabba's" 28 Pantera is for sale. Race ready all equipment, props, intercom, jackets, trailer, but a single HP500. This boat is competative in class 5. I think they're asking 60,000 if your interested, call 215 651-4787

If anyone is interested...The Screamin' Eagle F1/29' Warlock 500efi, is for sale for a very good price. The Carrabas Pantera would not be competitive with its current power.

PM me for info
